Two William Paterson University students who sued the school over its handling of sexual assault allegations can proceed with their suit after a federal judge trimmed a few of the claims but declined to throw out the case.

U.S. District Judge Kevin McNulty denied the university’s motion to dismiss the entire suit on sovereign immunity grounds, but he granted defense motions to dismiss two of the 21 counts and portions of seven other counts.
