Jan. 1, 2017, is more than a typical New Year’s day. This is the date New Jersey’s major bail reform bill becomes effective. In the months leading up to the effective date, the judiciary, legislature and bar associations have been preparing for this major overhaul of the State’s bail system and what it means for practitioners and the public.
