A medical malpractice suit linking the deaths of an expectant mother and the child to the failure of two doctors to treat the mother’s prenatal high blood pressure, Perrine v. Giovine, settled for $2.5 million on Nov. 3 in Monmouth County.
In 2012, Vanessa Perrine, who was pregnant, sought medical treatment over concerns about swelling in her feet. She visited obstetrician Anthony Giovine, according to the plaintiffs’ attorney, Carol Forte of Blume, Forte, Fried, Zerres & Molinari in Chatham.
