In Fisher v. Golden Shores, a 53-year-old longshoreman has received $2 million as compensation for injuries he received when he tripped and fell over lashing bars on a ship being unloaded at Maher Terminals in Elizabeth.

Plaintiff John Fisher of Woodbridge received his settlement funds on Nov. 14, said his attorney, Richard Winograd. Fisher and the defendants, Golden Shore Corp. and COSCO Container Lines—the owners of the ship, River Elegance—reached the agreement on Oct. 26, said Winograd, of Newark’s Ginarte O’Dwyer Gonzalez Gallardo & Winograd.
