New Jersey’s Superior Court is as close to full strength as it has been in numerous years, though it’s unclear at this point how the judiciary will portion out 20 new judgeships created to accommodate the state’s new criminal justice reforms.
With the most recent round of judicial confirmations on Jan. 18, the number of Superior Court vacancies dropped to 15, out of 462 bench spots statewide, according to judiciary data. That’s a vacancy rate of 3.25 percent.
