A woman who nearly lost her arm in an on-the-job accident settled her Somerset County suit, Jones v. Jim’s Soft Pretzel Bakery, for $1.95 million on Nov. 29.
In November 2010, Loretta Jones, then 41, was working in Manville at a franchise retail location of Pennsylvania-based Jim’s Soft Pretzel Bakery, cleaning a tabletop sheeting-extruding machine used to prepare dough for baking. The machine works by feeding balls of dough into an opening in the top that sits above eye level.
