New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has joined the chorus of voices berating United Airlines for having law enforcement forcibly remove a passenger from an overbooked flight—an incident that was captured on a video that has since gone viral.
On Tuesday, Christie dashed off a letter to Elaine Chao, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, asking her to suspend 14 C.F.R. Part 250, which allows airlines to overbook passengers and remove those who might not want to leave voluntarily.
