Kathleen Murphy, a partner with Connell Foley in Roseland, received the 2017 Civil Trial Practice Lawyer of the Year Award at the Middlesex County Bar Association’s 12th annual practice area awards dinner held on March 22, 2017, at The Pines Manor in Edison. Murphy focuses her practice on litigation and labor and employment law. She has tried more than a hundred verdict trials. Her extensive trial experiences involve defense of numerous automobile negligence claims, product liability trials, environmental claims and employment discrimination claims. She is a certified civil trial attorney. She is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation, and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), serving as treasurer of the North Jersey chapter in 1997-98 and president from 1999-2000. In 1998, she received the Civil Trial Attorney Achievement Award from the Essex County Bar Association and was honored in 2013 as the recipient of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey trial award. Murphy was law secretary to Presiding Appellate Division Judge Robert A. Matthews from 1977 to 1978. She was a member of the Supreme Court of New Jersey Ethics Committee from 1986-90, a barrister in the Essex County Inns of Court from 1987-88, and master in that Inn from 1988-1998.

Jackson Lewis Chairman Cino Honored by NIAF

Vincent Cino, the chairman of Jackson Lewis and a partner with the firm’s Morristown and Monmouth County offices, was honored by The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) on March 22, 2017, at its annual gala hosted at Cipriani 42nd Street in White Plains, New York. This annual event highlights the best in Italian food, beverage and cultural experiences–and celebrates some of the most notable luminaries of the Italian American community. As a 2017 NIAF honoree, Cino was recognized for demonstrating the diverse impact members of the Italian American community have here in the U.S. As chairman of Jackson Lewis, Cino is responsible for the entire firm’s day-to-day administration and management. Prior to assuming the role of chairman, he served as the firm’s national director of litigation. NIAF is the largest representative of over 25 million Italian Americans living in the United States.
