Ottilie Brechner Bello was identified incorrectly in a photo caption in the Jan. 26 issue [175 N.J.L.J. 257]. The caption should have identified Brechner Bello as “secretary of the Women Lawyers in Union County and a solo practitioner in Short Hills.” The Law Journal regrets the error. –>

Women Lawyers in Union County Sponsors Portrait Honoring Judge Ann Conti

On Dec. 2, a portrait dedication ceremony was held for the late Ann Conti, surrogate of Union County, in the courtroom of former Assignment Judge Edward Beglin Jr. The Women Lawyers in Union County sponsored the portrait. Pictured with the portrait are members of Conti’s immediate family.

NJ Commission on Professionalism in the Law Presents Professional Lawyer of the Year Awards

The New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law presented its Professional Lawyer of the Year Awards and Daniel J. O’Hern Award at a luncheon and awards ceremony on Oct. 2 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. Chief Judge John Bissell of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey delivered the keynote address. NJSBA Past President Jay Greenblatt was presented with the 2003 Daniel J. O’Hern Award in recognition of his commitment to professionalism, career achievement, and service to the profession and community.

The Professional Lawyer of the Year Awards are presented to lawyers designated by Bar Associations across the state who are respected for their character, competence and exemplary professional behavior.
