Perdue rescinding budget veto; will use line-item veto on tax cut

ATLANTA AP-Gov. Sonny Perdue on Tuesday said he would rescind his veto of the budget and use his line item veto power to reject a $142 million property tax cut championed by House Republicans.The move means that there will not be a promised special session. Perdue said that with the Republican-led House refusing to budge he has become convinced that returning lawmakers to Atlanta would be unproductive.
