After representing private aircraft servicer Pioneer Business Services in a contract dispute, Akerman is suing the former client in New York for $2.2 million and interest.

On November 5, Akerman filed a summons against both Pioneer Business Services and aviation investment company Aquila Aviation Ventures. The lawsuit is accusing the companies of deferring payments to the law firm totaling nearly $2.3 million. It’s also asking for 9% interest on those payments starting October 2023 totaling almost $200,000 and any attorneys fees incurred during the lawsuit.
