Some law firms with offices in flood-ravaged parts of the Southeast are considering their next moves after back-to-back storms last week dumped heavy rains and flooded many parts of the area, leading to hundreds of deaths and heavy damage to roads and utilities.
Lawyers and staff are safe and buildings where Atlanta-based Hall Booth Smith operates in parts of Georgia and in hard-hit Asheville, North Carolina, were unharmed—though the Asheville office, which the firm moved to a new location just weeks ago, will operate in a region with an economy that could take years to recover, experts say.
