A federal district court judge in California ruled that Australia’s second-richest person can sue Meta Platforms Inc. over its alleged negligence in operating in a commercially reasonable manner and for misappropriation of his name and likeness after scam Facebook advertisements showed him promoting fake cryptocurrencies and other investments.
Arthur Bryant, a partner at Bailey Glasser in Oakland, California, is the lead attorney for the plaintiff, Andrew Forrest. Forrest is a prominent Australian businessman and philanthropist, who sued the defendant, Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook.
