George Bell served 24 years in prison on a life without parole sentence for murders he did not commit.

Bell, who was convicted alongside Gary Johnson and Rohan Bolt in the 1996 killing of the owner of a Queens check-cashing store and an off-duty police officer providing security, was exonerated two years ago after new evidence surfaced, including a police report linking the killings with a group known as the Speedstick gang. Johnson and Bolt were freed as well.
