Two top attorneys, including at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Army, are moving to Big Law, the latest in a string of government moves in Washington, D.C., this year, amid the final months of the Biden administration.

Former general counsel of the DHS Jonathan Meyer is joining Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as a partner in its government practice. Meanwhile, Shook, Hardy & Bacon has hired retired Lieutenant General Stuart Risch, who most recently served as judge advocate general for the U.S. Army, as a partner in its business litigation practice.
