Deal activity has remained strong lately, with at least seven mergers and acquisitions-announced deals of more than $1 billion, as well as three new initial public offerings, a couple of special purpose acquisition companies and a SPAC merger in the last week. It was an especially strong week for Cravath, Swaine & Moore, which worked on multiple megadeals, including the largest announced transaction of the last week.
While M&A and private credit deal activity has picked up in 2024, the next couple of weeks appear uncertain for dealmakers and future deal volume.
