Having made headway in using generative artificial intelligence to serve its broader client base, K&L Gates is also looking to apply the technology to pro bono work, partnering with the Legal Design Lab at Stanford Law School to address the access to justice gap.
The inaugural AI & Access to Justice Summit, held on Oct. 18 at Stanford University, was designed to teach key stakeholders how to leverage new technologies to aid underserved communities and pro se litigants. It included hands-on trainings on various AI tools and platforms, and offered participants a glimpse into the current state of legal aid and court help pilot programs.
