Industrial products company Ingersoll-Rand was hit with a strict products liability suit this week after an allegedly defective drilling machine ran over a man’s leg, resulting in an amputation.

Attorneys with Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky filed the Oct. 22 suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on behalf of Logan Freiermuth, who was employed by Holbert Explosives. Freiermuth was performing work as an excavator in the vicinity of an Ingersoll-Rand drill when it ran over his left leg, which was “crushed, and mangled by the tracks of the subject rock drilling machine,” according to the complaint.
