Camilla advises on the full breadth of family law including separation, divorce, cohabitation, civil partnerships, prenuptial agreements, financial settlements, international child abduction, leave to remove applications and other disputes involving children. She specialises in substantial and complex financial settlements often with an international dimension. She offers counsel to royalty, beneficiaries with trust assets and significant inherited wealth, as well as other high net and ultra-high net worth individuals, professional footballers and international billionaires. Camilla founded the charity Not Beyond Redemption (NBR) in 2020. NBR provides free Family Law advice to incarcerated mothers enabling them to establish and sustain contact with their children. The charity is thriving. NBR runs legal clinics in seven women’s prisons across the country, including HMP Bronzefield, the largest women’s prison in Europe.

What is your favorite restaurant to take a client or colleague to?

Paulette in London’s Maida Vale. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you have been instantly transported to Paris.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Preparation is the key to everything!

What was your first job?

Scraping the barnacles off the bottom of sailing dinghies, sanding them down and repainting them because I grew up by the sea.

What is the book you recommend to everyone?

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

What changes do you expect to see in your practice over the next year?

I expect that there will be more and more divorces resolved privately, without the need to go to court. An increasing number of clients choose to divorce privately and appoint retired High Court Judges or KCs to assess the merits of a case in a private court hearing. A large proportion of my cases settle at private court hearings and I suspect that its popularity will increase over the next year.
