David is an Oxford graduate who has worked in the financial services industry for over 40 years in a number of different international financial centres. Prior to joining Butterfield in May 2016, David was with HSBC Private Bank (Bermuda), and previously with Bank of Bermuda, working as a trust specialist. David is a STEP member (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA), and a member of CPA Bermuda.
Question : What drew you to specialise in private client law/ wealth advisory?
Answer: After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in the UK, I moved offshore and found that private client field was the most interesting and satisfying.

Answer: Tax changes often reflect societal shifts, which is why they are present a challenge.
