I specialise in private wealth disputes concerning trusts, estates (and probate) and capacity issues (the latter frequently being dealt with in the Court of Protection). Much of the work I do is international in nature, frequently involving offshore jurisdictions and conflicts of private international law.
Question : What drew you to specialise in private client law/ wealth advisory?
Answer: Having a legitimate excuse to be nosy about the lives of fascinating people by helping them address any issues they face, in particular family disharmony.
Question : For lawyers entering private client law, what are key skills you think are essential?
Answer: Empathy, picking up on the small details which can make the difference, pro-actively strategising so as to be one step ahead of your opponents.
Question : With the evolving landscape of the private client world, what are recent trends or shifts you are excited to explore?
Answer: Novel ways of engaging with alternative dispute resolution and increasing reliance on AI.
