Professional Biography

Before coming to the Bar, Gilead enjoyed a brief career in publishing, editing books on photography, popular science and astronomy. He also spent a couple of years teaching in pre-revolutionary Iran. After pupillage, he worked in the Litigation Department of Freshfields for three years before returning to the Bar to take up a tenancy at 7 New Square. He joined Wilberforce Chambers in 2015. Gilead specializes in international trust and estates litigation, with a particular interest in Art and Cultural Property (including digital assets). He was included in Cityweath’s list of the top 100 Crypto advisors and managers. He is an International Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law (TIAETL). In addition to his practice as an advocate, Gilead sits as an arbitrator, and is a member of the LCIA and the Court of Arbitration for Art. He is also a CEDR accredited mediator.
