Line-Alexa Glotin is a Partner and Head of the Private client and Tax Department at UGGC Avocats. She advises private clients and institutions in a domestic and international context. She has extensive experience in assisting individuals, family businesses, family offices, charities, trustees and foundations including art foundations, notably in regard to the transfer and restructuring of private assets, tax planning and estate planning. She also assists clients family dispute, succession litigations and in tax litigation. She is a Trst and Estate practitionner for more than 25 years. She is notably a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law (IAETL), STEP member and Vie-President of STEP France and a member of the International Bar Association. She publishes regularly and is a lecturer in her field of experience abroad in private client forums. She also teaches private international law, trust law and tax at the University of law in Paris.
Question : What drew you to specialise in private client law/ wealth advisory?
Answer: What led me to private client work was, firstly, my interest in international private law and international tax law, and then working with my mentor for major executives and international families, as well as meeting lawyer mentors
Question : For lawyers entering private client law, what are key skills you think are essential?
Answer: Empathy, an ability to listen, a team spirit that is essential for working with colleagues in several countries on international cases and litigation, as well as solid technical skills.
Question : With the evolving landscape of the private client world, what are recent trends or shifts you are excited to explore?
Answer: Working with more AI for administrative tasks and freeing up my time to devote to the essentials of our profession: creativity at the service of our clients and team
Question : Where is your favourite place to take a peer for a cocktail or coffee?
Answer: On a beach, preferably in Corsica
