I am a Partner and head of Private Wealth Disputes in Mishcon Private. I act principally for HNW/UHNWs in international trust disputes. Sometimes those disputes are litigated in London. Frequently, however, they are litigated in offshore jurisdictions (Channel islands, Caribbean, New Zealand etc). Such disputes often involve breach of trust claims, claims for an account, claims for removal of trustees, claims for disclosure of trust documentation, claims for rectification/mistake/Hastings Bass and the like. In addition to trust disputes, I deal with a lot of probate disputes, both cross-border and domestic, and disputes under the Inheritance (Provision for Dependants) Act 1975. The vast majority of my cases are complex and high value and they normally have a cross-border element to them. I also specialise in contentious capacity issues, which are often litigated in the Court of Protection.
