Tax Advisory
Rebecca has extensive expertise in advising families, entrepreneurs, multi-generational businesses and family offices on wealth planning, succession and protection. These clients face their own unique set of challenges. At the heart of Rebecca’s approach is ensuring that clients have conversations before they become difficult conversations. Rebecca seeks to gain a real understanding of the clients’ family relationships and support her clients in making informed decisions about their future. Rebecca helps wealthy families with all elements of generational succession planning including wills, creation of trusts and estate planning. This often involves bringing together a multi-disciplinary team to use a range of legal tools to support the clients and their family – this can include corporate, family, disputes and philanthropy expertise. Rebecca also has considerable experience in advising clients in relation to the tax and trust implications of family breakdown.
Question : What drew you to specialise in private client law/ wealth advisory?
Answer: No two days are the same - the variety of clients, families and their stories. It is, and remains, a privilege to be trusted by clients about issues that are often deeply personal.
Question : For lawyers entering private client law, what are key skills you think are essential?
Answer: Listen, really listen and don't tell clients just what they want to hear. It is not unusual for clients to come to you about one particular issue but actually they need support with something completely different.
Question : With the evolving landscape of the private client world, what are recent trends or shifts you are excited to explore?
Answer: With the sweeping Budget changes for non-doms there is likely to be an increasing number of clients who will become UK centric . I am looking forward to supporting those clients with all aspects of estate protection and planning in the new tax landscape.
