Richard is a Founding Director of Cadell. He’s responsible for Client relationships, along with Willem de Gier and has developed a client base amongst Lawyers, Trustees, Private Banks and Family Offices in London, Geneva, Zurich, Monaco, Lausanne, New York, Chicago, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. Cadell is deliberately a discreet, bespoke, elite service, focused on advising Private Client Professionals and their UHNW art collector clients. Whilst conflicts of interest are endemic in the art market, Cadell does not deal, broker or accept Introductory Commissions. Our focus is to provide Private Client Professionals and their clients with truly independent estate planning advice on their art collections and manage any subsequent transactions via a formal competitive sale process. Cadell has 37 senior experts across 34 sectors, almost all of whom are former Dept Heads at Sotheby’s or Christie’s. No other art advisor comes close to this level of expertise. In 2020 Cadell won the STEP Boutique of the Year Award and was a Finalist again in 2023. In 2022 Cadell became the leading European art adviser having managed the sale of over $220m. In 2022 Cadell opened in New York and was chosen to manage the $100m Sir Jeffrey Hotung Collection. Richard is recommended by Private Client Global Elite and Spears.

Answer: The Great Wealth Transfer, will result in a huge wave of art come to market over the next 20 years. Helping clients navigate this will be critical to maximising value.

Answer: Rooftop 42 bar in Geneva, with its wonderful view of the lake.
