Richard Lewis is an experienced independent director, trustee, receiver, and liquidator, providing governance to offshore structures in contentious circumstances involving litigation, stakeholder disputes, or regulatory investigations. With over 16 years in financial services, he manages litigation, illiquid assets, valuation and investor disputes, and fraud investigations. Richard has expertise in administering various structures, including special purpose vehicles in industries like oil exploration, hotel management, mining, hedge funds, private equity, securitisations, capital markets, and asset financing, using both conventional and Islamic methods across jurisdictions. He handles liquidation appointments for solvent and insolvent entities and is qualified as a Court-appointed liquidator in the Cayman Islands and other jurisdictions. He is also registered as an insolvency practitioner with the DIFC Registrar of Companies. Richard is skilled in private client matters, including trust and family office services, and managing privately held investments like real estate and operating businesses. He advises on all stages of a structure's life cycle and has a network of trusted advisors and legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions. Before joining FFP, Richard worked in PwC's asset management assurance team in the Cayman Islands, auditing offshore hedge funds, private equity funds, and other asset management vehicles. He holds a BA(Hons) in Financial and Business Economics from Newcastle University, UK. Richard is a member of ICAEW, CIIPA, INSOL International, STEP, and the Cayman Islands Directors Association. He is registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and approved by the BVI Financial Services Commission as a director.
