Question : What drew you to specialise in private client law/ wealth advisory?

Answer: When I arrived in Jersey I effectively reinvented myself as a contentious trusts lawyer given the volume of trust work we do there. I had previously been involved in mainly contentious insolvency and commercial litigation. I immediately enjoyed this area

Question : For lawyers entering private client law, what are key skills you think are essential?

Answer: Patience. You are dealing with some highly charged family bust ups which take time, energy and imagination to resolve. Psychology would have been a useful first degree before law.

Question : With the evolving landscape of the private client world, what are recent trends or shifts you are excited to explore?

Answer: capacity disputes seem rife at the moment, so I am expecting to work with a few nerological experts in the coming years. Sadly, my aging father has given me some first hand insights into memory loss

Answer: Where's Fred's is right across the road from our London office and as well as being convenient it manages to combine both coffee (in the mornings) and cocktails (in the evenings)
