Tanja studied law at the University of Cologne and was awarded her doctorate in law in 2004 on the subject of ‘The Taxation of Non-Profit Organisations in Germany and France’. After her legal clerkship, she began her career in an international law firm in Paris and Düsseldorf. Since 2007, she has been working in the private clients department at Flick Gocke Schaumburg in Frankfurt am Main.Tanja is a dual-qualified lawyer and tax advisor. She advises high net worth individuals on asset and corporate succession, national and international inheritance tax law, and the structuring of domestic and foreign family foundations. In particular, she deals with the taxation of German beneficiaries of foreign trusts. In addition, her work focuses on the tax implications of moving to and from Germany. She also advises on the settlement of estates and handles international inheritance disputes. Another focus of her work is advising on prenuptial agreements, particularly in an international context.Tanja is a frequent speaker at international conferences and regularly lectures on foundation law or international succession planning in Germany and abroad.
