Moderna was hit with a patent infringement lawsuit Tuesday in Delaware District Court over the company's COVID-19 vaccine. The complaint, brought by McDermott Will & Emery on behalf of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, asserts a single patent related to lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology used to deliver RNA-based vaccines. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:22-cv-00925, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. v. Moderna, Inc. et al.
