Pfizer and BioNTech were hit with a patent infringement lawsuit Tuesday in Delaware District Court over the companies' COVID-19 vaccine. The complaint, brought by McDermott Will & Emery on behalf of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, asserts a single patent related to lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology used to deliver RNA-based vaccines. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:22-cv-00924, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. v. Pfizer Inc. et al.
