Lawyers at Freeman, Mathis & Gary on Friday removed a lawsuit against the City of College Park, Georgia, and fire chief Wade Elmore to Georgia Northern District Court. The complaint was filed by Poole Huffman LLC on behalf of firefighter Jeffry Bird. The complaint contends that Bird was wrongfully denied a promotion as retaliation for being a witness in a lawsuit accusing Elmore of illegally covering up sexual harassment claims in the fire department. The case is 1:22-cv-02630, Bird v. Elmore et al.
