Attorney Ibiere N. Seck, a former associate of the Cochran Firm, was sued by the firm and managing partner Brian T. Dunn for fraud, conversion and breach of fiduciary duty on Feb. 20 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County. The suit contends that Seck induced the firm to pay her a disproportionate share of attorneys' fees in an underlying sex abuse case by falsely stating that she had a personal, pre-existing relationship with the victim's family prior to the representation. According to the complaint, no such relationship existed, and the family retained the firm by calling its advertised number. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants.
