Hill Farrer & Burrill LLP was slapped with a data breach class action on Sept. 14 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County. The suit, brought by the Employee Justice Legal Group, alleges that the defendant detected a data breach in Mar. 2022, yet waited over a year to inform affected individuals. The named plaintiff is a former Charter Communications employee whose personally identifiable information was allegedly disclosed by Charter to the defendant after the plaintiff sued Charter for wrongful termination. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 23STCV22220, Booker v. Hill Farrer & Burrill.
