New Suit - Price Discrimination

Grease Monkey, a nationwide oil change business, and related entities were hit with a class action on Aug. 8 in California Superior Court for Orange County over the offering of a 'Ladies Day' pricing promotion. The lawsuit, brought by Rava Law Firm, claims the promotion, offered at the chain's Garden Grove location, constitutes sex-based price discrimination in violation of the Unruh Civil Rights Act. According to the suit, female customers were charged $20 less during the promotion than male and nonbinary patrons. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is Frye v. Camden & Ford Enterprises LLC.
