Sun-Maid Growers of California was hit with a false advertising class action on Feb. 9 in California Superior Court for San Diego County. The lawsuit, brought by the Wand Law Firm and Faruqi & Faruqi, contends that the defendant's yogurt raisin products are falsely advertised as being covered in yogurt when they are actually covered in a candy shell. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is McGarity v. Sun-Maid Growers of California.
