Uber and Musa Nsibuka were sued for assault, negligence and false imprisonment on Aug. 28 in California Superior Court for Alameda County. The suit was filed by the Law Offices of Thai Nguyen on behalf of Sarah Reyes, who was injured after jumping out of a moving Uber vehicle in Emeryville. According to the complaint, driver Nsibuka stopped following the Uber navigation directions and refused to stop the vehicle despite pleas from the plaintiff. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 23CV041625, Reyes v. Uber Technologies Inc. et al.
