David Smith, firm chairman of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, has stepped in to defend Philadelphia City Councilmember Cindy Bass in a pending lawsuit over alleged retaliation and political interference. The suit was filed Jan. 27 in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court by Mette Evans & Woodside on behalf of Carla Cain, a committeeperson for Philadelphia's 22nd Ward. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Chad F Kenney, is 2:22-cv-00360, Carla Cain v. Cindy Bass.
