Removed To Federal Court

Attorneys at Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart removed an employment class action against SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment to California Southern District Court on Monday. The suit was filed by Blanchard Krasner & French and other counsel on behalf of SeaWorld employees who were furloughed during the COVID-19 pandemic and never rehired. The complaint accuses SeaWorld of failing to pay severance and other benefits to the furloughed employees, many of whom were allegedly replaced by less-qualified workers. The case is 3:22-cv-01127, Freeman et al. v. SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Inc. et al.
