Law firm Chilton Yambert Porter and other defendants were hit with a legal malpractice lawsuit on July 18 in Illinois Circuit Court for Cook County. The complaint, centered on representation for underlying breach of contract litigation, was brought by Konicek & Dillon on behalf of brokerage firm MNR Executions, which contends that the defendants overcharged for legal services, resulting in the plaintiff paying over $2 million in unnecessary fees. According to the suit, the defendants failed to give proper advice regarding settlement of the lawsuit. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants.
