The New York State Department of Health was sued Monday in New York Northern District Court over mask mandates for children attending school in person amid COVID-19. The complaint was filed by Thomas Marcelle and other lawyers on behalf of a group of parents who dispute the efficacy of wearing masks for protection against infection, and claim the mandate threatens civil liberties. The case is 1:21-cv-01034, L.T. et al v. Zucker.
