New Suit - Consumer

Apple, Google and Snap Inc. were hit with a class action Monday in California Southern District Court for allegedly facilitating the 'sexual grooming' of minors. The lawsuit, brought by Buche & Associates and Eisenberg & Baum, arises from an underlying criminal case in which a man pled guilty to using Snapchat to coerce a minor to engage in pornographic acts over the course of nearly three years. The complaint seeks to compel the defendants to comply with laws that prohibit child abuse, and to enforce policies to stop such criminal conduct. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 3:22-cv-00619, L.W. v. Snap Inc. et al.
