Volkswagen was hit with a consumer class action Friday in New Jersey District Court over alleged defects in the systems of certain VW Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport Vehicles. The suit contends that the vehicles have defective wiring harnesses which cause the brakes to engage without warning, windows to open randomly and warning systems to malfunction. The suit is backed by Carella Byrne Cecchi Olstein Brody & Agnello; Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro; Goldenberg Schneider; and the Law Offices of Sean K. Collins. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:22-cv-01704, McMahon v. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
