Attorneys at Ballard Spahr on Monday removed a class action against Specialized Loan Servicing and other unnamed defendants to California Central District Court. The complaint claims that the defendants violated the CARES Act, enacted to provide COVID-19 aid relief, by reporting loans in forbearance agreements as late or deficient. The case was filed by Zimmerman Reed LLP on behalf of borrowers who entered into assistance plans with the defendants. The case is 2:20-cv-10455, Mitchell v. Specialized Loan Servicing LLC et al.
