Shook, Hardy & Bacon filed a lawsuit Thursday in New York Northern District Court on behalf of Smith & Wesson, Beretta U.S.A., Glock Inc. and other firearm makers and trade associations. The complaint challenges New York State Senate Bill 7196, which the plaintiffs contend expands New York's 'public nuisance' law by targeting firearm makers whose lawfully produced guns are brought illegally to New York by bad actors to commit crimes. The case is 1:21-cv-01348, National Shooting Sports Foundation, Inc. et al v. James.
