Fox Rothschild filed a lawsuit on July 23 in North Carolina Superior Court for Mecklenburg County on behalf of family-owned jewelry company Le Vian Corp. and other defendants. The suit accuses Truist Financial, WarePin Management and other defendants of conspiring to facilitate a money laundering scheme by forming fraudulent beneficiaries as shell companies and building a digital banking platform similar to the one offered by Bank of American to impersonate the bank's proprietary CashPro. According to the complaint, this yielded close to $6 million in unauthorized wire transfers from accounts held by the plaintiff. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants.
