Attorneys from Hall Booth Smith and Consovoy McCarthy have stepped in to represent the Republican National Committee and the Georgia Republican Party in a pending voting rights lawsuit. The suit was filed July 31 in Georgia Northern District Court by Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer; the Advancement Project; and the Law Office of Bryan L. Sells on behalf of A. Phillip Randolph Institute and the New Georgia Project. The suit seeks injunctive and declaratory relief to stop the alleged unlawful removal of eligible voters from registration lists. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Steven D. Grimberg, is 1:24-cv-03412, New Georgia Project et al v. Raffensperger et al.
