Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, disbarred attorney Gary Mason and other defendants were sued for legal malpractice, conversion and breach of fiduciary duty on Aug. 5 in New Jersey Superior Court for Monmouth County. The suit, brought by the McKenna Law Firm on behalf of Keyport Towers & Marina, accuses the defendants of taking unlawful distributions from marina operations without applying the funds towards unpaid loans and other obligations. The complaint further accuses the defendants of entering an easement purchase option agreement with PSEG Services in violation of a 2022 consent order.
