Progressive was hit with a consumer class action on Jan. 18 in Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County. The suit, brought by Saltz Mongeluzzi & Bendesky, accuses the defendant of wrongfully refusing to pay diminution-in-value damages for automobile accidents unless the vehicle is declared a total loss. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 240101974, Alexander v. Progressive Advanced Insurance Co. et al.
