Cigna and Disney were slapped with an ERISA class action on Aug. 23 in California Central District Court. The suit, filed by Russell Law and Qureshi Law, is part of a wave of cases accusing employers and health insurers of wrongfully denying coverage for employees' children who receive mental health or substance abuse treatment at residential facilities. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 2:23-cv-06988, Deighton v. Cigna Health and Life Insurance Co. et al.
